The Spruce House was added to A Taste of Alaska Lodge in 2015 and features some modern style, complete with an open spiral staircase in the living area. It has a spacious, wrap-around deck for summer enjoyment or aurora borealis viewing in winter.
The house features a full kitchen for cooking and a comfortable living area. It is perfect for a group of four guests or a family, with a king and twin bed on the first floor and a half loft at the top of the spiral staircase with a second queen bed. The Spruce House is located just 300 feet from the Main Lodge.
Kory built this house while he was in college, with guidance and instruction from his dad, and lived in it until 2014. All of the logs came straight from the property, and Kory carried on the building tradition of his father and grandfather.
